Swire Shipping is pleased to announce a new Pacific Weekly Express (PWX) service. This service operates on an unparalleled seven-day frequency from Southeast Asia to Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, New Caledonia, and Fiji. PWX combines and expands two existing services – superseding Southeast Asia (SEA) and East-Southeast Asia (ESEA) services. 

With our commitment and drive to support our customers supply chains with best-in-class liner services, Swire Shipping is further pleased to announce that our Australia – Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands (PNG) and Australia – Pacific Islands (PIS) services will be enhanced to fixed-day fortnightly products.

With the fixed-day services, customers can standardise and repeat processes at both origin and destination locations, making it easier to plan their supply chains. This enables customers to reduce inventories, lower holding costs, and improve stock management, which reduces supply chain risk. Customers will also benefit from shorter waiting times and fewer vessel clashes in ports with priority and fixed berthing windows. Supply chain planning is also made easier with improved on-time performance and reliability.

To support the enhancements, our MV HIGHLAND CHIEF (Heritage Chief Class) will replace MV KOKOPO CHIEF (Miho Class), phasing into the Australia – Papua New Guinea & Solomon Islands (PNG) service for commencement of V.2308N, accompanying our recently redeployed MV CORAL CHIEF (Heritage Chief Class).

During the transition we have some small date adjustments over immediate forward voyages as we synchronise both services into their new windows. These changes will be reflected in our commercial schedules this week.
