From November 2023, Swire Shipping is upgrading NWD service to a 10-day frequency providing thrice-monthly delivery schedule into Port Hedland direct, to better serve local communities and our customers in the Pilbara region.
This service upgrade is enabled by a slot agreement for containerised cargoes to and from the Pilbara region. Meanwhile, Swire Shipping has introduced the WAX service, linking North Asia, Southeast Asia, Dampier, Port Hedland, and Fremantle on a monthly semi-liner basis, specifically designed for project and breakbulk cargoes.
The two services – NWD and WAX, will operate in tandem providing increased frequency, greater port coverage, schedule reliability, supply chain robustness and mitigated risk by having multiple delivery options connecting the Western Australia to rest of the world.
With this revamped network design, Swire Shipping is committing to offer end-to-end direct shipping and integrated last mile solutions for the Western Australia, facilitating efficient cargo management and significantly reduced carbon emissions.
