SWIRE SHIPPING UPDATE : Emergency Equipment & Feeder Surcharge (EQS)

Dear Valued Customers,

The surge in demand globally for liner shipping services continues to intensify pressure on both container supplies and vessel space. 

Swire Shipping introduced an Emergency Equipment & Feeder Surcharge (EQS) on November 10th with a quantum of USD150/teu and USD300/feu effective from December 1st.

This is a temporary surcharge that Swire Shipping will continue to review with market conditions, and it will be removed following the normalisation of conditions in global liner shipping. However, with operational cost pressures continuing to intensity, Swire Shipping is needing to adjust the quantum of the EQS to reflect this changing cost situation.

Effective for all consignments showing a Swire Shipping Bill of Lading date from 15th December 2020 the EQS quantum will be revised as per the table below:
