Update: Westbound Emergency Export Surcharge (EXS) recovery effective 15th July 2024
Update: Westbound Emergency Export Surcharge (EXS) recovery effective 15th July 2024
12/07/2024
Due to the escalated situation in the Red Sea, Swire Shipping is experiencing a significant impact on our ability to deliver cargoes from Asian hub ports to destinations in European, Red Sea, and some India Sub-Continent ports.
Swire Shipping relies on strategic business partners to connect our expansive shipping network to areas not covered in our sphere of excellence. As a result of these unexpected and unpredictable disruptions securing capacity on this lane is currently coming at a significant cost increase.
In response Swire Shipping has introduced an Emergency Export Surcharge (EXS) for this lane. Access to capacity for cargo departing Asian hubs is again tightening with space only accessible at significant premiums. As a result, Swire Shipping will apply a further increase to the applicable Westbound Emergency Export Surcharge (EXS) from July 15th per the table below. EXS will continue to be invoiced to the freight payer.
