South East Asia to Papua New Guinea

South East Asia to Papua New Guinea

Dear Valued Customer,

In response to the sustained decline in cargo volumes from South-East Asia to Papua New Guinea combined with escalating cost pressures facing international shipping lines, Swire Shipping has entered into an operational capacity sharing arrangement with MBf Carpenters Shipping where Carpenters Shipping will supply one vessel into the existing South-East Asia PNG ”Shuttle Service”.

This arrangement is necessary to ensure the longer-term sustainability and frequency of regular liner shipping services from South-East Asia to PNG. As a result of this arrangement there will be no change to the existing service frequency or port coverage; specific service levels will be provided on the basis of:

- Every 11 days to/from Lae
- Every 13 days to/from Port Moresby
- Every 22 days to/from PNG Outports

Swire Shipping is determined to maintain and where possible improve our market leading shipping services and schedules which include a total of 8 vessels trading between South-East Asia and Papua New Guinea.

We appreciate your understanding and we remain absolutely committed to being the leading provider of sustainable shipping services and our customers’ partner of choice. Please contact your regional Swire Shipping offices and/or local agents for all bookings, arrangements and enquiries.

This revised capacity sharing arrangement will commence in late December 2013 and schedules will be issued within the next week.

Swire Shipping is grateful for your continuing support. Best wishes for Christmas and the holidays.

For further information, please do not hesitate to contact your local Swire Shipping representative.
