Swire Shipping Launches Tasmanian Service

Dear Valued Clients,

Swire Shipping is delighted to announce a new direct monthly link between Tasmania, Asia, New Zealand and the Pacific. Swire Shipping has a strong track record serving regional markets in Australasia and is looking forward to working closely with the Tasmanian importers and exporters.

The service will deploy 3 x 31,000dwt new build vessels that will be progressively deployed into the service through-out the year. These multi-purpose vessels are self-geared, reefer capable and fitted with 120mt lifting capacity, extending flexibility for a full range of cargoes.

The service will form part of the Asia-Pacific-Australasia (APA) service and commence with the first direct caller (Pine 6 v1302n) on March 8th into Bell Bay, Tasmania.

Thereafter regular monthly calls will provide direct service to New Zealand, Asia and the South Pacific including New Caledonia and Papua New Guinea. The service will also provide transshipment connections to global destinations via Swire Shipping’s extensive network.
