Congestion Surcharge - Suva

Congestion Surcharge – Suva
Pacific Islands Service

Over the past 12 months we have seen a significant increase in berth and port congestion in Fiji. This congestion has a serious impact to all services calling Fiji.

To cover some of the cost that incurs as a result due to time lost waiting for a berth, slow operations in port and having to burn more fuel to speed up vessels to maintain schedule integrity, we will be introducing a Congestion Surcharge.

This Congestion Surcharge will be introduced in Suva effective 20th March 2013 and will be charged by our agents Pacific Agencies (Fiji) Ltd to all imports and exporters at the level USD 125 per container and USD 7.35 per revenue tone for break bulk. We will continue to monitor the situation in Lautoka but at this stage will apply in Suva Only

Effective Vessel/Voyages: Danny Rose v0034
  Southern Pearl v61
  Forum Fiji v119

We regret the additional cost to Fijian customers & businesses; however this surcharge is necessary for us to continue to offer regular and reliable shipping services to and from Fiji.
