West Coast North America enhances Pacific Islands coverage

Swire Shipping is pleased to announce the addition of a direct port call into Suva, Fiji on the southbound leg of the West Coast North America (WCNA) service.

The introduction of the direct call into Suva will commence in March 2013 with the departure of the Chenan v1302, providing customers with both the market leading transit time of 13 days from Los Angeles and extensive coverage via Fiji into the Northern Pacific ports including Tarawa and Majuro.

The WCNA service will continue to operate on a fixed 33 day frequency and utilizing 2 x CNCo “C Class” 25,555 dwt multipurpose vessels. The revised rotation will be:

• West Coast North America
Suva, Fiji
• Australia
• New Zealand
• West Coast North America

The direct port call at Suva will provide the following service coverage from Los Angeles to key Pacific regions as follows;

• Fiji – 13 days transit
• Papua New Guinea – 25 days transit
• Vanuatu – 30 days transit
• New Caledonia – 30 days transit
• Solomon Islands – 30 days transit
• Kiribati – 32 days transit
• Wallis and Futuna – 33 days transit
• Marshall Islands – 35 days transit
