International Carrier Security Fee

5th June 2012

The International Carrier Security Fee covers the cost to remain compliant with the security standards imposed by the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code. The ISPS Code was introduced after the events of September 11th 2001 and is a set of security measures aimed at protection of vessels and port facilities engaged in international trade.

Swire Shipping has reviewed its costs for security measures. To be able to partially recover the rising costs we will apply an increased Carrier Security Fee for all trades with effect from 1st July 2012 as follows:

USD 12.00 per container
USD 0.65 r/t

Security fees at terminals will continue to be handled separately.

For further information please do not hesitate to contact your local Swire Shipping representative.
