Swire Shipping BAF Annoucement (WCNA) - June 2012

May 4th, 2012

United States and Canada to Australia and New Zealand
Increase to Bunker Adjustment Fee (BAF)

Dear Valued Customer,

Please be advised that the Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF) applied to all exports from the United
States and Canada to Australia and New Zealand will increase as follows:

Break Bulk - from 30% to $40 per RVT
20’ Containers - from 30% to $715 per TEU
40’ Containers - from 30% to $1050 per FEU

The revised BAF rates will take effect on all cargo loaded from 7th June 2012.

This increase is necessitated due to the steadily increasing bunker price over recent months.

There will be a requirement to recover additional costs relating to the compliance with West Coast
North America Emissions Control Area (ECA) regulations regarding use of low sulfur fuel. Further
information will be made available as soon as possible.

Tariff and contract cargo will be subject to this increase. Contract cargo customers should refer to
their BAF clause for updated rates.

Please do not hesitate to contact your local agency representative should you have any questions.

Yours faithfully,
WCNA Trade Management Team
