Hazardous surcharge - Breakbulk

AUSTRALIA TO PNG / SOLOMON ISLANDS SERVICE
MOTOR VEHICLES / BOATS / COMBUSTION ENGINES - HAZ SURCHARGE

Effective 1st January 2012, IMDG regulations for internal combustion engines (including vehicles) have been classified as dangerous goods, UN3166, Class 9.

Swire Shipping has assessed additional costs associated with the change in Code, including stowage on board, how we manifest the cargo and general handling of Dangerous Goods and advised that effective from Island Chief v1204N, a Hazardous Surcharge will apply to all motor vehicles, boats and internal combustion engines shipped as break-bulk.The surcharge will be applied as follows:

AUD 250.00 per break-bulk piece or AUD 7.50 per cubic metre, whichever is greater.

Shippers are also reminded of the following Hazardous Surcharge for containers:

·AUD 250.00 / 20'

·AUD 500.00 / 40'
