New Australia to Pacific Islands Service

Swire Shipping is pleased to announce the commencement of a new independent service from Australia to the Pacific Islands in July 2016.

The new Pacific Islands Service will provide for fast, direct connections from the Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane to the key pacific ports of Noumea, Prony Bay (New Caledonia), Suva (Fiji), Port Vila and Santo (Vanuatu) in addition to transhipment connections to Lautoka (Fiji), Apia (Samoa), Pago Pago (American Samoa), Nuku’alofa (Tonga), Tarawa(Kiribati) and Majuro (Marshall Islands).
 

The Pacific Islands Service will deploy two China Navigation Company owned “Miho” vessels, the Kiribati Chiefand Micronesian Chief which are purpose built for the South Pacific trades.The Pacific Islands Service will operate on a twice monthly rotation covering the following direct ports:


Melbourne –Sydney –Brisbane –Noumea –Prony Bay -Suva –Port Vila –Santo –Prony Bay –Melbourne.  North and south bound transit times will be as per the matrix below:

The new service is scheduled to commence with the arrival of the Kiribati Chiefin Melbourne on 12thJuly, 2016 and a forward schedule is attached for your reference.Until that time all Swire Shipping bookings will continue to move on the AUSPAC service.
