Swire Shipping Enhances Network Coverage from Asia to Australia and Papua New Guinea

Swire Shipping is delighted to announce improvements to our multipurpose liner service from North Asia to Australia. In a space sharing cooperation with AAL, Swire Shipping will provide a superior 18-20 day service frequency from common ports in Asia to the Australian East Coast. The enhanced service will provide the fastest link from North Asia to Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea.

Commencing 14 December 2015, Swire Shipping will be deploying two new S-Class multipurpose vessels (30,000dwt each) with lifting capability of up to 120mt while AAL will deploy two AAL A-Class heavy lift vessels with lifting capacity of up to 700mt on the route.

The two carriers remain independent with separate commercial and operations functions and will continue to offer their respective customers high levels of service.

Swire Shipping enhances North Asia to Pacific Islands Service

 

Swire Shipping is pleased to announce improvements to its North Asia to Pacific (Bali Hai) service, starting January 2016, that will offer the following key service highlights:

Direct calls at Qingdao (China) and Nuku’alofa (Tonga) added to current port coverage

Direct service  from mainland China to Tarawa, Majuro, American Samoa, Samoa, Tonga and Vanuatu

Monthly direct sailings (breakbulk, project and containerised cargo) to/from Qingdao, Busan, Yokohama to South Pacific

Capacity upgrade of 142teu (nominal) and 11,000mt cargo deadweight

To complement the enhanced service, Swire Shipping will increase the carrying capacity by 142teu and 11,000mt cargo dwt by deploying two Challenger Class vessels,

MV Kwangtung and MV Chengtu, early next year.

In addition to providing the only multipurpose liner service connecting mainland China to the South Pacific, this enhanced service provides direct port calls in Suva and Lautoka and offers fast transit times to the Pacific ports of Majuro, Tarawa, Pago Pago, Apia, Nuku’alofa and Santo.

The first Qingdao (China) direct vessel will be MV Micronesian Chief (v1688) in early January and the first Nuku’alofa (Tonga) direct call will be MV Kwangtung (v1602) in early March.

For voyage 1602 the enhanced port rotation will be Shimizu, Qingdao, Busan, Yokohama, Majuro, Tarawa, Pago Pago, Apia, Nuku’alofa, Suva, Lautoka, Santo, Honiara, Tarawa, Majuro, Shimizu. The key transit times are listed on the table below.

Asia to New Zealand

RATE RESTORATION (RR)

Dear Valued Customers,

 

In order to maintain a high standard of service and extensive port coverage, we will be implementing a Rate Restoration (RR) program on all import shipments from Asia to New Zealand on 7th January, 2016.

The RR will be effective for all import shipments into New Zealand from North Asia (Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China and South Korea) and East/South East Asia (Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, India and Philippines).

It will be applied to any shipment, with a B/L date on or after 7th January, 2016 at:

US$150 per TEU and US$300 per FEU.
